A new musical collective centered around the Pittsburgh region, Moose Lodge Revival aims to carry forward and promote traditional bluegrass music through exploring it's various styles. Bringing people together to celebrate and participate in this important American art form is a main focus for this quartet of experienced area musicians.  They are now booking for winter/spring 2024.

THE STORY:

Why the Moose Lodge? In the small river community of Elizabeth PA, 23 miles upstream from Pittsburgh along the Monongahela River, guitarists Ryan Meals and Adam Petterson grew up living and working.  The Loyal Order of Moose 142 stood on Elizabeth's Market St and hosted some of the most famous names in bluegrass during the 80's and into the 90's, leaving a treasure trove of stories and lore from local musicians and national musicians alike.

Grammy award winning Tim O'Brien of Hot Rize hightlights Moose promoter Rod McNeil, saying "Playing the musical circuit like I have for many years, you meet a lot of different people. Some folks seem larger than life and one such character was Rod McNeil, who promoted bluegrass shows at the Moose Lodge in Elizabeth PA. Rod brought folks together, providing a venue, building an audience, and treating the musicians with great care and respect." Tim O'Brien - Rod McNeil

Ryan Meals and Adam Petterson teamed up with Seattle area multi-instrumentalist and Pittsburgh newcomer Jimmy Hall in summer/fall 2023. Along with bassist Trish Imbrogno, they prepared an ever-growing list of songs that give a nod to this notable but unsuspecting Monongahela River Valley institution and the music played there.  The band wishes to share this music with you and your friends soon!
